About

Welcome to Youth Advocates for Change, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to amplifying the voices of youth through various art mediums while promoting intersectional social justice issues. Our focus lies in providing a platform for self-determined middle and high school students who aspire to make a positive impact through a critical consciousness approach.

What is critical consciousness? It involves three essential steps:

Reflection

We value and validate the lived experiences of our students, encouraging them to draw from their knowledge and emotions to develop solutions that foster change in their communities. Whether it's through storytelling in film and photography, journalism, fashion, music, or other art forms, the reflection process addresses traumas, healing, personal passions, talents, and interests.

Motivation

As a team led by Gen Z, we form a community of like-minded young individuals who utilize our own experiences to guide others on their journey of creating impactful art. We offer personalized mentorship and resources that cater to the unique needs of each student, motivating them to envision and plan the execution of their projects.

Action

We support students in taking the necessary steps to launch their projects and events that contribute to community transformation. These projects can range from photo campaigns and short films to community donation events and beyond.

At Youth Advocates for Change, we provide crucial resources, mentorship, and funding to uplift and amplify student-led projects through our platforms. While we serve as a vehicle for their success, it is the students themselves who take the initiative and see their projects through, becoming the true change-makers. Our ongoing support aims to prepare them for seamlessly integrating social change and impact into any career path they choose to pursue.

We firmly believe that every student deserves a safe space to nurture impactful projects and events that bring positive change to their communities. By becoming a part of Youth Advocates for Change, students will find a nurturing environment to transform their visions into reality, fostering lasting change for a better future. Together, we can build a brighter world, driven by the creativity and determination of young change-makers.
