At Youth Advocates for Change (YAFC), we believe in the transformative power of youth voices. Founded in 2020 on the principles of equity, creativity, and community, our mission is to amplify the voices and ideas of young people to lead positive change through critical consciousness, intersectional social justice, creative entrepreneurship, and service.
What We Do:
- Empower Young Leaders: Through our Changemakers Curriculum and Framework, we guide youth in exploring social justice issues, developing leadership skills, and creating impactful projects that address their communities' needs.
- Support Educators: Our trauma-informed professional development program, Educators for Advocacy, equips teachers with the tools to support students' social-emotional well-being, recognize trauma responses, and foster inclusive learning environments.
- Build Community: In our Los Angeles creative arts center, we provide a safe, inspiring space for youth to express themselves through storytelling, visual arts, and collaborative projects, especially focusing on those from marginalized communities.
