THE CHANGEMAKER WORKSHOP
The Changemakers Workshop is YAFC’s foundational youth leadership program, designed to support young people in exploring identity, community issues, and systems of power through creative expression and advocacy.
Using a reflection-based curriculum, students engage with topics such as social justice, belonging, and community care—bridging art and activism to transform lived experience into meaningful action.
Through workshops and 1:1 mentoring, young people:
- Build confidence and self-awareness
- Develop project ideas rooted in their lived realities
- Learn how to communicate their needs, values, and visions
- Access microgrants and mentorship to bring projects to life
Youth-led outcomes have included documentaries, podcasts, fashion showcases, art galleries, community campaigns, and nonprofit initiatives—demonstrating that when young people are trusted with agency, they lead powerfully.
